Traverser l’Atlantique en bateau plat

Deux frères américains veulent traverser l’Atlantique en bateau plat en souvenir d’hommes qui ont péri lors de la mission Eagle Claw censée sauver les otages de l’Ambassade américaine en Iran (1980).

Voulant battre le record du monde Guinness pour ce type d’embarcation en pleine mer, Ralph et Robert Brown veulent récupérer des dons pour la fondation des héros blessés (Wounded Heroes) du Canada, de Grande-Bretagne et des États-Unis.

Ces deux hommes sont en route pour Saint-Pierre depuis Halifax et devraient arriver aux îles prochainement.

    « Guinness Book World Records holders Ralph & Bob Brown are coming to St-Pierre-et-Miquelon on a ‘flats boat’ today July 19. The boat is designed to operate in 6 inches of water, has no cabin, sail, rudder or anything else you might expect. Just a single Suzuki outboard. St-Pierre-et-Miquelon is a stop on their ‘I am Second Wounded Hero Voyage’ going across the Atlantic from Tampa Florida to Frankfort Germany. They will be setting more world records with this trip. The voyage is to raise money and ‘Do More’ to support wounded and fallen heroes in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom military.
